Houghton College’s Star Lake Campus is located on 39.5 acres within the Adirondack Park. Access to 500,000 acres of wilderness is within one-half mile of the campus. Many DEC-maintained hiking trails are within a short drive.  During the summer months, the pavilion, cabins, dorm rooms, classroom and dining room facilities are offered to the public for group or family use. Star Lake is situated in St. Lawrence County, about 4-5 hours from Houghton’s main campus in Western New York. During the summer months, Star Lake facilities can accommodate 80 people (60 in the winter). During the fall semester, Houghton College students can study surrounded by stunning wooded setting at Houghton’s campus located in Adirondack Park. A Mayterm course selection is also offered. Facilities:

The Main Lodge is available for retreats, conferences, wedding receptions, family reunions, business meetings, or classes. Use fee $500.00/day. Conferences and retreat groups of 50 or more are not charged day use fees for the Lodge, Reutershan, or the Pavillion if staying for three nights or more.

Pavilion

v     35’ x 35’ glass-enclosed, overlooking the lake (use fee $75.00 per day)

 

           "Oak" is a 2-person cabin.     Inside view of 2-person cabin with drive to the front door.     "Whitetail" (6-person), "Chipmunk" and "Squirrel" (2-person cabins) are described below.     "Sparrow's Nest" is an 8 to 10 person cabin with 3 sleeping rooms and a large bath with tub.     "Tribes" is a 9-person cabin with 3 sleeping rooms.     "The Boathouse" sleeps up to 10, has 3 sleeping rooms and 3 bathrooms.

Cabins:

v     Oak is a 2-person cabin and as a deck overlooking the lake ($260.00 per week/ $55.00 per day)

v     Squirrel is a 2-person cabin and has a screened porch ($230.00 per week/ $45 per day)

v     Chipmunk is a 2-person cabin and has a screened porch ($230.00 per week/ $45.00 per day)

v     Whitetail is a 6-person cabin with 2 sleeping rooms, living area, and a shared bathroom ($425.00 per week/ $65.00 per day)

v     Sparrow’s Nest is an 8 to 10 person cabin with three sleeping rooms and a large bath with tub ($575.00 per week/ $85.00 per day)

v     Tribes is a 9-person cabin with three sleeping rooms, living area, large screened porch, and shared bath ($575.00/ $85.00 per day)

v     Boathouse sleeps up to ten, has three sleeping rooms, three bathrooms, two living areas and kitchen; it has a screened porch and sits right on the lakefront ($650.00 per week/$105.00 per day)

 All cabins have restrooms with showers; most cabins overlook the lake and have a deck or porch.

 

Reutershan Classroom Building (use fee $150.00/day)::

v     40’ x 40’ classroom;

v     Can be divided into four smaller rooms, each with outside entrance

Travel Directions:

Star Lake, NY, is located on Route 3 (see first Yahoo map-click on image to enlarge for viewing). To arrive at the campus in Star Lake approaching from the west (see second Yahoo map below), taking the first right turn onto Youngs Road at the Nice 'n Easy MiniMart; the next right turn will be just prior to the Star Lake Housing for the Elderly & Handicapped (see below). The final right turn will be onto the campus at the green sign (see below).
